Autumn Sessions 2018

Autumn Photoshoot

I took this photo last week and it screamed Warm Autumn, the weather has been so gorgeous lately that the trees are starting to lose some leaves.

This made me think about this Autumn and how amazing the leaves are going to be, which for a photographer is a dream come true, especially as last years display was shockingly poor with all the rain we had.

So I am already thinking Autumnal shoots and as of today taking Autumn bookings. My prices can be found HERE

Below are a few examples from last year, we really struggled last autumn from the wet weather and there wasn’t nearly as much colour as usual.

Autumn is my busiest season for sure and I book up super fast. This year I’m going to be doing a reduced number of weekends as last autumn I didn’t get one off but I will be doing more midweek shoots and after school shoots where the light permits.

Weather is always a big issue this time of year, if it’s spitting, on and off showers or windy I’m happy to go out if you are 🙂  but if it’s blowing a gale, pouring down, thundering or freezing cold to the point where your extremities will fall off we will need to reschedule, so always have a back up date just in case.

I don’t do Autumn mini sessions it just doesn’t give you enough time to enjoy the location or for me to capture you or your children properly.

Locations

So I scope out my locations based on a few things

How safe it is for the children to run free

Colour and fallen leaves

Dog numbers – good for pet sessions, fewer dogs for dog free families and children nervous of dogs

Quiet Locations – mainly so we don’t have folk in the background and also so you don’t feel uncomfortable with lots of eyes on you

All locations are local to Wrexham or Chester, I’m happy to photograph somewhere you love but will need to scope it out first, backyards are great as long as we have some good colour and enough space to let children be children.

I always happy to Travel there is a fuel charge on further locations.

My locations always include some walking but are pram friendly give or take the odd hill if you have any walking difficulties or children that hate walking please tell me at the point of booking so we can get the right locations for you.

Booking

I’m now booking in autumn shoots, weekends are limited so if you want a weekend I would book in now to save disappointment, midweek is always quieter but cheaper 🙂 Your session fee will need to be paid in full within 7 days of booking to secure your date.

Nothing else needs to be paid until you receive your gallery and have chosen your images or products.

Payment plans are available on orders over £300, your session fee cannot be included in this. Payment plans are perfect if you don’t want to pay that cost in one big hit and would prefer to share the payments over 2-4 months, all payments are non-refundable, all products or images are released to you on your last payment.

When is Autumn

So mother nature is a strange girl but in general the best time to go out and photograph is Late September through November, we may find this year that we can shoot from Mid September as in previous dry years, if need be we can move dates around depending on the leaves, but you’ll be pretty safe come Mid October as that’s always the peak.

Feel free to bring snacks and drinks as always, maybe some hot chocolate and marshmallows 😉 Dress up cosy but avoid bulky coats and body warmers that will make you lose your neck when you sit down.

As always avoid big logos, transfers and trainers to keep your images timeless. Keep your colour palette tonal and mix prints, patterns, textures and fabrics.
